What is RE-2Y(St)Y-fl

RE-2Y(st)Y is a PE insulated and PVC sheathed instrument cable manufactured to British and European standard BS EN 50288. RE-2Y(st)Y-fl is particularly suitable for applications requiring electromagnetic interference resistance due to its protective shielding layer (available with PiMF/TiMF shielding structures). RE-2Y(st)Y is designed for signal transmission in instrumentation, analog and digital communications, and control applications in process plants within industries such as petrochemicals and power generation. Suitable for both fixed and mobile installations, its low signal attenuation and low mutual capacitance enable long-distance signal transmission.

Conductor	annealed plain copper wires Class 2 (Class 1 or Class 5 and / or tinned on request)
Insulation	PE-Polyethylene compound  Black / White twisted pairs with numbered cores
Binder Tape	Polyester foil on overall cable core formed by stranded pairs
Collective Screen	Aluminum/polyester foil with a tinned copper drain wire in direct contact with the metallic side of the foil
OUTER SHEATH	Flame retardant PVC compound to EN50290-2-22 Blue for intrinsically safe cable Black for UV resistant and/or non-instrinsically safe cable Other colours on request
