What is 2 Core SWA Cable ?
2 Core SWA Cable or Steel wire armoured cable is a hard-wearing cable made up of Black PVC Sheath, xlpe insulation, copper conductors and steel wire armouring.2 Core SWA Cable is designed for mains electricity for laying underground, power networks, incoming mains to homes amongst a host of other applications externally and internally.
2 Core SWA Cable is also handy as it allows the user to use the cable for direct burial and the armour enables the cable to withstand higher pulling loads. XLPE insulation is resistant to a number of different fluids, chemicals and has good heat stability.

XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene) for the insulation
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) for the sheathing and bedding
Steel Wire for the armouring that protects the insulating layers beneath.
2 Core SWA Cable Classification :
According to the different insulating materials,2 Core SWA Cable is divided into PVC SWA cable, XLPE SWA cable and XLPE SWA LSF cable. The application of XLPE swa cable is MV armour cable and LV armour cable. And its maximum operating temperature is 90 degrees Celsius. PVC swa cable application is just LV armour cable. And its maximum operating temperature is 70 degrees Celsius. The insulation material of the XLPE SWA LSF cable is made of low-smoke and halogen-free XLPE insulation.
