MC Cable

Metal-clad (MC) armored cable constructions are a cost-effective alternative to traditional pipe and wire. These high-performing solutions offer significant cost savings by eliminating the need for electrical conduit and the labor required for installation. Contractors who use armored cable require limited pulling equipment, fewer reels, and less time setting up pulls.

MC Cable w/ Stranded Copper Conductors is suitable for use in branch, feeder and distribution circuits in commercial, industrial, institutional and multiresidential applications. MC Cable is approved for power, lighting, control and signal circuits. Metal Clad Cable can be used in cable tray and other approved raceways and can be exposed or concealed. MC Cable can be used in places of assembly of 100 people or more, such as studios and theaters. Voltage ratings should not exceed 600V in any application.

 

Metal Clad Cable are soft annealed copper to ASTM B3. PVC/Nylon type THHN insulation in accordance to UL 83, flame resistant, meeting UL VW-1. Bare copper ground wire, sized in accordance with NEC and UL, with green THHN insulation. Conductors are cabled with grounding wires. A marker tape/core protection tape combination assembles the core in an essentially round configuration. Interlocking galvanized steel tape armor applied directly over the core. flame test.

 

Metal Clad Cable may be used for branch, feeder and service for distribution in commercial, industrial, and multi-residential construction. They are suitable for installation in motion picture studios, theaters, and places of assembly.
