What is NHXCH and NHXH Cable?

The NHXH and NHXCH cable are for circuit integrity, developed to continue running for set lengths of time in the event of a fire. They are used for voice alarms, smoke alarms, and assistance for fire fighting and life saving efforts.
These Cables have fire resistant and non-corrosive (FRNC) homes that make them ideally suited for installation in public structures and for applications requiring a high degree of resistance to flame and offering reduced discharges of hazardous fumes in order to shield both human life and tools in case of a fire. They are produced to European Standard EN 60332-3-24 - the European Standard which replaced the conventional EN 50266-2-4 (taken out).

What does FE180 E90 meaning?

The FE180 E90 stand for European fire-resistance standards for electrical cables, separating efficiency into insulation integrity (FE) and system circuit integrity (E). FE180 suggests the cable's insulation alone can withstand direct fire direct exposure for 180 mins without short-circuiting. In contrast, the E scores (E30, E60, E90) test the whole installment system-- including clamps, trays, and supports-- inside a heating system. They guarantee the complete network maintains power and signals during a real structural fire for 30, 60, or 90 minutes respectively. Higher numbers determine survival times for vital life-safety and firefighting equipment.
