Type 275 Mining Cable Description
Type 275 mining cable, a flexible 1.1/1.1kV cable conforming to AS/NZS 1802 standards. Sometimes also referred to as Type 275.1—the “.1” indicates that this specific cable series is rated for 1.1kV. Its configuration is 3+3+1, where three power conductors and three ground conductors are interconnected, with a central reinforcement provided by a guide core. This cable offers multiple conductor cross-sections, with power cores ranging from 16 mm² to 50 mm².
Type 275 mining cable features EPR insulation and an HD-CSP outer sheath. Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) insulation offers excellent dielectric strength and resistance to water treeing, while Ultra-High Strength Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene (HD-CSP) provides ozone resistance, extremely low water absorption, abrasion resistance, impact resistance, and crush resistance, while maintaining the required flexibility—properties particularly crucial in the harsh and demanding environments of mining operations. To enhance mechanical protection without compromising flexibility, a layer of polyamide yarn is also incorporated beneath the outer sheath.

Type 275 Mining Cable Application
The Type 275 mining cable is a flexible low-voltage cable commonly used in underground coal mining. It finds extensive application across various industrial sectors, such as powering shuttle cars and serving as power supply cables for pumps. Shuttle Cars: Used as flexible power supply lines for shuttle cars operating at high speeds underground and subjected to significant tension. Pump Cables: Also employed as flexible supply cables for underground pumps.
