What is Type 440 Mining Cable?

Type 440 mining cables employ a 3+3+1 configuration – comprising three power conductors, three earth conductors, and one control conductor – and are available in multiple cross-sectional area specifications of stranded tinned copper wire. Rated voltages include 1.1kV (Type 440.1), 3.3kV (Type 440.3), 6.6kV (Type 440.6), 11kV (Type 440.11), and 22kV (Type 440.22), with an operating temperature range of -25°C to +90°C. Manufactured to Australian and New Zealand standards, these cables feature waterproof, flame-retardant, UV-resistant, sunlight-resistant and ozone-resistant properties, making them highly suitable for repeated dragging and winding demands on dynamic equipment in harsh environments.

Type 440 Mining Cable Application:

Type 440 mining cable is used to provide power to heavy mining machinery and equipment, such as draglines, shovels, and drills, particularly in open-cast mining applications. Other industrial applications include:
Powering machinery: Primarily used to supply power to large mobile machinery such as draglines, excavators, and large drilling rigs.
Control and signal transmission: The cable's construction includes a guide core for control and signal transmission, relaying equipment data and process information back to the control unit.
General industrial equipment: Beyond mining, smaller gauge Type 440 cables can also be employed for various industrial equipment and handheld tools.
