NF C33-226 AL-XLPE-MDPE Cable Description:

NF C 33-226 AL cable refers to a standard for medium voltage cables, specifically those designed for public power distribution networks, with aluminum conductors. These cables are typically used for voltages of 12/20 kV and 18/30(36) kV. FR-N20XA8E-AR cables (aluminium conductor) are manufactured in accordance with NF C 33-226-a commonly specified French Normes cable designed for primary and secondary power distribution. The medium cables listed (also referenced as HTA cables in France) have a rated voltage of 12/20 kV. The cables with a rated voltage of 18/30 kV are referenced with the prefix FR-N30. 

With the aluminium conductor variants of NF C 33-226 al cables available as both a single core cable and 3x1 (trefoil/triplex) cable, the FR-N20XA8E-AR MV cables at 12/20kV and the FR-N30XA8E-AR MV cables at 18/30 kV can be installed in ducts, buried directly, or in free air. 



NF C 33-226 AL-XLPE-MDPE cables are insulated with XLPE to provide a maximum conductor operating temperature of +90°C. There is an aluminum tape metallic screen, with water-blocking tape wrapped underneath to prevent water ingress. The polyethylene sheathing offers a robust outer layer of environmental protection, resilient against tearing and abrasions and offering good water resistance.
